Program Overview

Program Description:
Living as part of an international group in Phnom Penh, volunteers teach affordable English classes to local students, raising money for a local organization working to improve livelihoods with rural communities. Teachers teach up to 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, for a 12 week semester. Classes are fun and informal, following our unique curriculum rooted in real-life Cambodia. Volunteers live in our comfortable and secure Volunteer House, where we provide 3 meals a day from our in-house cook!

Affordable! At $60 / week, our programme is as affordable as they come! Support! We have a dedicated 24/7 living support team, and full time teaching support. Orientation! We provide an extensive 10 day orientation to help you find your feet. Cultural Exchange! Our programme is designed to encourage genuine cultural exchange. Impact! Our sustainable model creates real impact. Volunteers have the opportunity to visit project sites in rural Cambodia to see it in action.

“Driving development through language learning”Our model directly benefits students who are empowered to use English in their own lives to express their own culture. Student fees fund development projects by our partner, CRDT. CRDT provides sustainable community and rural development projects to 4,961 families in support of conservation of the critically endangered Mekong River Irrawaddy Dolphins in Kratie and Stung Treng, and the protection of tropical forest biodiversity in Mondulkiri.
Setting Description:
Phnom Penh is an exotic and enigmatic city, once known as the Pearl of Asia. The streets are chaotic, the markets bustling, and the people cheerfully optimistic. Quickly modernizing, it also boasts a lively restaurant scene and nightlife. Our School is in Toul Tompoung, an exciting area in south PP, 5 minutes from the famous Russian Market. It is a quiet, secure neighbourhood, away from tourist traps. A variety of nice cafes, restaurants, and even a few bars are popping up as the city grows.
