Program Overview

Program Description:

This program focuses on the critical study of culture, systems, and politics of food in Italy. Specifically, you will study the food culture of Italy, food media and communications, the architecture of ancient Rome, art history, social dynamics, economy, and the language and culture of Italy. Moreover, in-class learning is complemented with field studies, meetings with experts, the production of a short documentary, cooking lessons, and group work with students from Italian universities in Rome. You can take up to five academic courses taught by local professors holding a Ph.D., professionals in the field as well as professional instructors.
