Program Description:

Campus Oxford has been welcoming ambitious and outgoing high school students to Oxford and Cambridge for 35 years, and we know how to make your summer one that you will remember for the rest of your life. We have subject choices to suit everybody, from medical biology to ancient history, and our students live and study in historic academic surroundings, staying in the ancient colleges of Brasenose in Oxford and Magdalene in Cambridge, and taking part in many thrilling excursions around England. The Oxford and Cambridge Advanced Studies Program offers a wide choice of subjects, from which you choose two to study over each two-week period. It is possible to change subjects after two weeks if you are staying for the full four weeks. Each subject is studied in depth through daily seminars and weekly tutorials. Set reading and written preparation to complete during study or free-time periods reinforce the material and themes explored. Course tutors are highly experienced and enthusiastic communicators. The majority of the faculty are Oxford and Cambridge University graduates, many undertaking research and teaching at undergraduate level.

The Advanced Studies Summer Program is designed to prepare ambitious high school students for university by giving them a taste of academic life at it's most stimulating. We also offer specific support for university applications as well as credit transfer for courses taken with us.

Setting Description:

Oxford is the original and arguably most renowned university city in the UK, home to some of the most eminent academics and a magnet for the brightest and best students. The University of Cambridge was founded in 1209 after scholars and students left Oxford due to tensions with local people and established a new center of learning. The colleges and academic institutions began to be established in the thirteenth century and today have become knitted into the fabric of the city.
