Program Overview

Program Description:
The "Foreign Teacher PLUS Curriculum" Project was launched by China International Teacher's Association. CITA supplies schools with an English course curriculum and other educational resources, with the hope of promoting development in the school's educational system, allowing the teachers to have a ready-to-go curriculum and guaranteeing a smooth academic year. In order to further improve the development of English education, CITA provides schools and the regional education department a collection of teacher training materials, assistant teacher training, original English teaching materials, course outlines, and supplementary course materials and an assessment system.

China International Teacher's Association (CITA) is a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) based in Beijing, China affiliated with China's Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs (SAFEA). CITA’s mission is to link native English speakers with teaching positions in elementary and middle schools in the bustling city of Shenzhen, China, just outside Hong Kong. CITA has deep roots within Shenzhen's educational system, placing over 3, 000 foreign teachers in teaching positions that include living accommodations, free weekday meals, competitive pay, and a travel allowance. Ideal candidates are native English speakers from the United States, Canada, UK, Australia or New Zealand with TEFL/TESOL certification, have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, a spirit of adventure and sense of humor.

The Chinese elementary and middle school students our teachers work with typically have a strong theoretical knowledge of English, but need support and encouragement from a native English teacher to communicate clearly and confidently. If you feel you can make an impact on Chinese students' English education, while gaining valuable experience living and working abroad, we encourage you to apply.
