Program Description:

Study Spanish language and humanities for a semester, academic year, or summer in Barcelona.

With courses containing just 2-8 students, this program was designed for students looking for a more personalized study abroad experience. Class is always held Monday through Thursday allowing for a long weekend of exploring the city or traveling around Europe. Both apartments and homestays are available and each term includes various excursions. Students earn 15 credits during a semester and 6 credits during each summer session.

The cost of each term includes tuition, housing, program travel, weekly cultural activities, airport pickup, transcript from Jacksonville University, Florida, 2 meals per day in homestay, and international emergency insurance. Each semester students are provided with 3 weekend trips outside of Barcelona. Each summer session includes 1 weekend trip outside of the city.

Setting Description:

Barcelona is Spain’s second largest city and the capital of Catalonia. Nestled along the Mediterranean Sea and extending into the wooded hills of Spain, Barcelona is the country’s most cosmopolitan city. This world-class European city holds everything from high-tech businesses to old Gothic architecture complimented by modern mosaic street art. Barcelona is an old, yet modern city with an abundance of museums, beautiful churches, traditional outdoor markets, and some of Europe’s finest restaurants.

Semester cost is $12,650. Summer session cost is $4,650.
