Setting Description:
At the University of Florence, IE students will join a campus population of over 60,000 students. The university can trace its origins to the early part of the 14th century, is one of the largest universities in Italy, and has provided a rich tradition of excellence throughout the Tuscan region of Italy. IE students will attend courses at the Centro di Cultura per Stranieri (Cultural Center for Foreigners). This department of the University of Florence was founded in 1907 and is designed to enhance intensive language development and cultural knowledge of foreigners. Lorenzo de’ Medici is one of the largest schools in Florence, located in ten campus-buildings (totaling 50,000 square feet) in the historic city center, right next to the thriving San Lorenzo market and church and close to transport facilities.
