Program Description:
Students of design and fashion should look no further than the Fashion & Design at the European Institute of Design (IED) summer program for the perfect study abroad opportunity! One of the most well-known design schools in the world, IED is your chance to learn about topics your passionate about in a setting that brings your coursework to life. With courses ranging from interior design to fashion trends, and a campus in the artsy Grácia neighborhood, it might be hard to return home after just four weeks. BridgeVirtual Language Lessons As part of your program fee, you will receive three free BridgeVirtual language sessions for your use prior to your arrival on-site! Each session lasts 2 hours and includes both pre- and post-class online activities, as well as private, face-to-face time with a certified native speaking teacher. With BridgeVirtual, you’ll learn from practical assignments that incorporate videos, blogs, news articles, and a large variety of material, appropriate for all levels and interests. You will be assigned your own teacher, who is dedicated to guiding and motivating you through a completely personalized, one-to-one program, which makes learning fun, practical and effective. Minimum GPA: 2.5/4.0 Transcript: Issued by IED. Courses The Fashion & Design Summer program at IED allows you to choose from a variety of design courses in English or Spanish. Students can choose two electives from the following: Courses in English: Coolhunting and Fashion Trends Creative Illustration Courses in Spanish Moda y Visual Merchandising Diseño de Moda Eco Design Diseño de Espacios Interiores Community Management – Redes Sociales y Medios de Comunicación Dirección de arte y publicidad Admission Requirements: Be enrolled as an undergraduate at a U.S. university or college Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher Have some design experience Have the required minimum language proficiency

The Host Institution Instituto Europeo de Diseño (IED) The Instituto Europeo de Diseño (IED) is one of the most well known design schools in Europe. In 2002, the IED opened its Barcelona headquarters in the charismatic and popular Grácia neighborhood – a vibrant area full of artists and creativity. The school itself boasts over 50,000 square feet of fashion and design work areas, video and communication studios, and countless classrooms for the Spanish and international students studying here.
