International Master programme in higher education management and research – MARIHE (Erasmus+ programme) ********************************************************************************************************** Language: English Including language courses in German, Finish or Chinese Including studying at 4 different universities in Austria, Germany, Finland and China Including internship at MARIHE consortium partners *************************************************************************************************** Start: August Duration: 2 years = 4 semesters (120 ECTS) Degrees: M.Sc. (Admin.) or MSc ******************************************************************************* Admission/Entrance requirements University degree (minimum: bachelor of 180 ECTS (or equivalent)). The program’s graduates bring along the key competencies for successful managers, experts and researchers in tertiary education, research and innovation: ********************************************************************************************* GENERAL MODULES All students of MARIHE will have the same mobility track in first three semesters: 1st Semester: Danube University Krems / Austria 2nd Semester: University of Tampere / Finland Internship: between 2nd and 3rd semester 3rd Semester: Beijing Normal University / China - understand and analyse regional and global developments in higher education and research - link system change with institutional change, and - design and realise reforms in higher education and research institutions ADVANCED MODULES In 4th semester there are two different specialization tracks: 1) The management track which focuses on the management of research and innovation in higher education. Students in the management track will spend their 4th semester at University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück / Germany 2) The research and analysis track which focuses on analyzing and conducting research on the topics "research" and "innovation" in the higher education sector. Students in this track will spend their 4th semester at either Danube University Krems / Austria or at University of Tampere / Finland. ************************************************************** Selected modules of MARIHE curriculum are open for single module studies: Persons interested can participate in single modules and gain credits upon successful completion without being enrolled to MARIHE programme.

Danube University Krems is located 80 km west of Austria’s capital Vienna, and in one of Europe’s most beautiful cultural landscapes, the Wachau region along the Danube, which has been named a world cultural heritage site by the UNESCO. ************************** The University of Tampere (UTA), is one of the largest and the most competitive universities in Finland. Tampere is also the most populous inland city in any of the Nordic countries. Even though it is dubbed the "Manchester of Finland" for its industrial past as the former center of Finnish industry, it is located between two lakes, Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi.
