Program Description:

Dimensions of China (Jul 15 – Aug 11, $5500) is a four-week, survey program which offers students exposure to a broad range of subjects, from Chinese history, architecture, economics, and politics, to Chinese medicine, opera, and mythology, as well as Mandarin (1.5 hours daily), Arts Workshops, and a brief, optional homestay. Based in East China Normal University in Shanghai, the program will take students to Hangzhou, Suzhou, and a watertown. Students in Grade 9-12 are eligible to apply. Knowledge of Mandarin is not required. Partial financial aid is available to outstanding students based on needs. Application deadlines: Jan 31, 2011 (Early), March 31, 2011 (Regular).

China Programs is an independent educational organization that offers China-focused, in-depth, and top-quality summer opportunities for high-achieving high school students from around the world.

This program takes a survey approach to studying traditional and contemporary China. It is particularly suitable for students interested in gaining broad exposure in multiple issues in China.
