Program Overview

Program Description:
The curriculum includes lectures by the Duquesne Law School faculty and the top English speaking Chinese legal scholars and practitioners on over twenty different topics in Chinese substantive and procedural law and field trips.Students completing the program will receive five (5) to six (6) hours of ABA-approved credit.

This three-week program (May 29 - June 19, 2015) which is open to any English speaking law or non-law students and legal or non-legal professionals in the world, features a comprehensive survey of the Chinese legal system in English, covering all major facets of Chinese law. Internship opportunities are available.

From an academic and cultural perspective, the program offers the students an exceptional opportunity to learn about Chinese law and its legal system and to see many of the legal institutions and historic and cultural sites in Beijing. Students completing the program will receive five (5) to six (6) hours of ABA-approved credit.
Setting Description:
All classes are held in the morning in a modern, spacious and air conditioned classroom at the downtown campus of the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) which is located within a short commute of Tiananmen Square, Great Hall of the People, Forbidden City and Summer Palace.
