Program Overview

Program Description:

The International House Heidelberg-Collegium Palatinum is located in Heidelberg, one of Germany's most beautiful and beloved cities, which has long been a center of university education. This world-famous, small romantic town is an ideal place to learn German.

Located on the slopes of densely forested hills, Heidelberg is about an hour's train ride from the major urban center of Frankfurt, with access to famous scenic spots such as the Black Forest regions, and is within a few hours' drive from Munich and the Swiss and Austrian Alps. Founded in 1958, the IH Heidelberg-Collegium Palatinum offers German courses all year round, at all levels, for participants who want to learn German intensively and effectively.

Setting Description:
Students have two housing options. The first option is to live in a state-of-the-art and trendy "Bahnstadt-quarter." It provides modern fully-furnished single apartments with a built-in kitchen and bathroom. The public areas offer inviting rooms for socializing, common learning, cooking and relaxing. There is a TV- lounge for all, a modern fitness area, a shared kitchen, and washing machines and dryers in the laundry centre. High-speed internet and cable TV is included. The second housing option is to live with a host family, which can be arranged for those students who are looking for exposure to everyday life in Germany; students will be provided two daily meals with this option.
