IQS- Ramon Llull University Internationally prestigious but still small enough to feel intimate, IQS is Bridge’s partner institution in Barcelona. The school was founded in 1905 as a Jesuit institution. In 1991, IQS joined with other Barcelona schools to found Ramon Llull University, and today, the center enrolls some 1,200 undergraduates and 300 graduates. Its AACSB-accredited, internationally recognized School of Management has earned a reputation for academic excellence and a commitment to ethical education, making it a popular choice for international students looking to deepen their knowledge of international business. IQS offers an ample number of courses in English as part of its regular business curriculum. Most importantly, international students are able to take any of the regular courses offered to local IQS students, offered in either English or Spanish, thus providing a true immersion and intercultural experience for all students. IQS’ state-of-the-art, Wi-Fi equipped campus includes a large library, computer labs, and gym. It is located just a short walk from Barcelona’s Metro, putting the cultural and academic resources of one of Europe’s cultural capitals at your fingertips. If you need even more entertainment, the IQS International Relations Office organizes a range of activities for international students, including welcome and farewell receptions, and other events throughout the semester!
Setting Description:
What makes Barcelona unique? If you see an “under construction” sign in front of Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia Basilica, the trippy modernist sandcastle of a cathedral that brought local architect Antoni Gaudí to fame, don’t cancel your visit. This international symbol of the city isn’t closed temporarily for renovation; no, it’s been under construction continuously since 1882! Built from private donations and delayed by the Spanish Civil War, the gothic-meets-Art-Nouveau masterpiece was only just consecrated for religious use in 2010, when building finally passed the midway point. Work is officially forecast to end in 2026—proof that 130 years in, it’s still possible to believe in miracles!
