Program Description:

Our BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance (N390) degree will help you prepare for a successful career in the financial sector. This programme is integrated with many of our professional qualifications, and allows you to sit recognised exams once you graduate, such as Investment Management Certificate (IMC), Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), Investment Advice Diploma and Chartered Financial Analyst – CFA® Level I. BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance programme is available as a 3 year option or a 2 year accelerated option.

With our BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance you can work towards the following professional qualifications - •Investment Management Certificate (IMC) - (which is an award of the CFA UK Society): in your second term, the 15-credit IMC module has the option to work towards a professional exam to achieve the IMC. •Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) - (the IMC is an award of the CFA UK Society): in term four, with the15-credit Securities unit module you can complete 1 of 3 Parts to achieve the IAD, Part 2 – exemption following completion of IMC for Investment, risk and taxation, Part 3 – FSA regulation and professional integrity, largely covered by the IMC. You will be offered additional tuition to complete syllabus for external examinations. The IMC is an award of the CFA UK Society, the IAD is an award of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment. By undertaking the BPP University awarded BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance you will be eligible to undertake further study for these externally awarded qualifications. •Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®): in term six, the Level 1 30-credit module works towards a professional exam available externally twice a year. The CFA® is an award of the CFA UK Society and BPP Professional Education can provide additional training to prepare you for the full CFA® examinations. This is not part of the BPP University award of BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance. •CISI Diploma: in term six, the Diploma level 1, 30-credit module works towards a professional exam available externally twice a year. The CISI Diploma is an award of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment and BPP Professional Education can provide additional training to prepare you for the full CISI Diploma examinations. This is not part of the BPP University awarded BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance. •Retail Distribution Review (RDR): RDR requirements can be met by completing the IAD (awarded by the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment) or completing the IMC (awarded by the CFA society) and CFA® Level I (also awarded by the CFA UK Society). This is not part of the BPP University awarded BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance.
