Program Description:

Natural and Cultural Ecology Seminaor: Marine Ecology, Rain Forest Ecology, Ethnic Studies, Environmental Philosophy, Educational Excursions; Environmental Field Study Seminar, and Independent Study Project (16 credits in total).

This interdisciplinary program investigates the unique environments of Queensland through lectures and activities that weave together the natural ecology of locations such as the Wet Sclerophyll Forest and Norman Reef with cultural ecology topics such as contemporary social pressures on natural resource exploitation.

Please inquire for costs: Fees include tuition, full room and board, all field trips and related fares, health and accident insurance, and other direct program expenses. Participants pay for international airfare and domestic travel to the point of departure from the USA.

Setting Description:

Two weeks homestay in Cairns. The program generally includes extensive field excursions to the Great Barrier Reef, the wet tropics lowland rain forest, the Atherton Tablelands, and Brisbane.
