Program Description:

Get a head start on your college education! This program is ideal for students looking to get a taste of university life, strengthen their foreign language skills and experience Rome’s rich culture. Earn 3 college credits and receive an official transcript from Richmond, The American International University in London. The AIFS Staff in Rome organizes many safe and fun social and cultural activities, which will allow you to truly experience the culture of Italy. You will receive breakfast at the hotel, plus dinner at a local restaurant with AIFS staff Monday through Friday as well as a public transportation passes for the duration of the program.

Earn 3 college credits on a 3-week program studying Art History, Fashion, or Italian Language with AIFS in Rome. You will live in a centrally located student hotel. Enjoy various cultural activities, including an Italian cooking class, a day trip to swim in the Mediterranean Sea at one of Rome’s famous beaches, as well as guided walking tours throughout the city. An optional excursion to Florence is also available.

Summer Advantage provides students ages 16-18 the opportunity to experience an international educational program in a prestigious university setting and get a head start on subjects they wish to study during college. Summer Advantage is a program of the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS), which has provided high quality, academically enriching programs to over 1.5 million participants since 1964.

Rome: Ancient capital of a world empire, powerful seat of one of the world’s largest religions, thriving scene of the artistic and scientific advancements of the Renaissance, home to a powerful architectural legacy stretching from antiquity, through the Romanesque and Baroque periods, to the present, and the center of a legendary culinary heritage. This modern city is filled with excitement and beauty. As impressive as this list may be, it only begins to suggest the magnificence of Rome. History literally surrounds you as you walk its streets, and its people exude energy and sophistication. There is much to learn in the Italian capital, and Rome Summer Advantage is designed to help you peel back the layers of the city’s history to discover its secrets. You’ll receive the kind of education that is just not possible in the classroom alone!

Cost:

Program fees cover transcripts for college credit and housing. A meal plan, tours and excursions, insurance and the support of full-time, on-site staff are also included. For your convenience, each program location offers an optional AIFS Transportation Package, which includes airfare and airport transfers.
