Program Description:
Eternal City Education’s 25 day study abroad program is intended for students aged 14 to 16. As an introductory course this program focuses on the history of western civilization. The students will travel to several Italian cities but the emphasis will be on the history and significance of the city of Rome. The program will also pay particular attention to the history and interpretation of visual arts (mainly sculpture and painting) from the time of ancient Rome all the way through to the modern styles of the 19th century in Italy. Both Latin and Italian are also taught throughout the duration of the program

This is a preparatory course for college and for life generally. It helps the participant to understand the development of Western Civilization from the Renaissance and broadens their minds culturally.
